Pixel
A pixel, short for “picture element,” is the smallest unit of a digital image or display. Each pixel is a single point in a graphic image and is composed of a combination of red, green, and blue colors, known as the RGB color model. The intensity of each color can vary, allowing for millions of different hues. Pixels are arranged in a grid to form a complete image, with each pixel representing a tiny portion of the overall picture. The resolution of an image or display is often defined by the number of pixels it contains, with higher resolutions providing more detail and clarity. Understanding pixels is fundamental in digital imaging, graphic design, and display technologies, as they are the building blocks of all digital visual content.
