Alpha Testing

Alpha testing is the initial phase of software testing, performed in a controlled environment by developers or a dedicated testing team. Its purpose is to detect bugs, assess functionality, and ensure the product aligns with the specified requirements. Conducted before beta testing, it focuses on internal validation to identify potential issues in the software’s core features.
Alpha testing often involves both white-box and black-box testing techniques. It is typically divided into two phases: the first involves developers testing the software for immediate errors, and the second engages quality assurance (QA) teams for broader testing.
Though limited to internal teams, alpha testing is critical for identifying significant defects early, reducing the risk of costly fixes later in the development cycle.
